Learn ways to recognise when your dog is experiencing stress and anxiety, and find tools that help them to regulate their nervous system.
What we will cover
Module 1
Our first week is all about learning about stress and anxiety. What is the stress response in dogs, why this stress response is essential to health, and how this can become unregulated and cause problems for our pets.
We will discuss the different types of stress, and how to recognise when your dog is showing signs of being stressed.

Module 2
Medical issues can impact the stress response, and there are certain conditions which can worsen anxiety.
We will also go through the different needs of our dogs, to live a full life.

Module 3.
Allowing the dog to be a dog. Nurturing curiosity and investigation, providing enrichment.
Different breeds of dogs can benefit from different types of enrichment

Module 4.
Providing a safe space for your dog, and appropriate companionship and exercise
Module 5.
Anxiety and food. Exploring foods which can help to support the nervous system. Which can worsen anxiety, and foods which can be protective against anxiety.

Module 6.
Herbal medicine and its role in anxiety. How to safely use herbs for your dog

​Module 7.
Consistent interactions and routines can support regulated nervous systems for you and your dog

Module 8.
Training and counter conditioning. Activities to work through common anxiety triggers

Module 9.
Supportive therapies in canine anxiety, including Essential oils, Bach flowers, energy medicine, music therapy, body work

Module 10.
The Gut Brain connection
Supporting a healthy gut for a healthy brain and nervous system

Module 11.
Pharmaceutical Medications. Their role in canine anxiety, avoiding contraindications and reducing side effects if required.

Module 12.
Putting it all together. Creating a comprehensive protocol to address your particular dogs needs.
